Biography of Hai Rihan
- 1958 - Born in Inner Mongolia
- 1982 - Graduated from the Art Department of Central University for Nationalities
- 1982 - Later worked in the Chinese National Museum of Ethnology, creating art works.
- 1994 - Participated in Beijing’s first “Tensile Experiment – Expressionist Ink Painting Exhibition”
- 1998 - Participated in “The First International Ink Painting Biennale of Shenzhen – Metropolis Ink Painting Exhibition”, held at Guan Shanyue Museum, Shenzhen
- 1998 - Invited to participate in the “98’ Shanghai Biennale Art Show”
- 2000 - Participated in the “Exhibition of New China Art” held in Liu Haisu Art Museum, Shanghai and then, Jiangsu Art Museum
- 2001 - Invited to participate in the “China - 20 Years of Experiments on Painting Ink and Wash Exhibition” in Guangzhou
- 2001 - Participated in the exhibition, “The Masters of Chinese Painting - The Last 100 Years” – organised by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the Chinese Artists Association
- 2002 - Invited to participate in Shanghai’s “Integration • Permeation – New Works of Contemporary Chinese Artists Exhibition”
- 2003 - Participated in the “Modern Ink-Painting of Mainland China Exhibition” in Taiwan
- 2003 - Participated in the symposium on “Establishment of Modern Ink Painting”
Hai Rihan is now a Vice Professor of the Art Department of Inner Mongolia Normal University, a Postgraduate tutor, a Committee Member of the Inner Mongolia’s Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and a Member of the Chinese Artists Association.
