Bamazhaxi was born in 1961 in Shigatse, Tibet. A self-taught artist, he has worked with the Tibet Autonomous Region Federation of Literature and Art Circles since 1984. He is Vice-Chairman of the Tibetan Artists Association and a member of the Chinese Artists Association.
