Yisulang Art Gallery, home of traditional and contemporary Chinese fine arts. The focus of the gallery is on creating an awareness of contemporary Chinese fine arts, on cultivating a familiarity, and intimacy, between the audience and the art, bridging the stereotyped ideology that has erected a false barrier between traditionalism and modernism and eliciting a keen appreciation of the Chinese art of our era.
The name of the Yisulang Art Gallery, for those who know Chinese, clearly indicates its specialization – it contains the word ‘yi’ for ‘art’ and also ‘su’ for ‘return to origins’ or ‘going back to the source’. As a gallery that has taken as its mission the task of only dealing in the finest of Chinese fine art, and in line with its focus on ink painting, the Chinese art form with the longest tradition in the history of Chinese art, the Yisulang Art Gallery lives up to that name.
The Gallery’s mission is to showcase the great masters and also young but promising artists that are held in esteem by for example, the Chinese Arts Association in Beijing. Together, their work embodies the wide variety of Chinese traditions and themes, with each artist individually maintaining his or her own technique and character and, of course, the essence of the artist that is encapsulated in each of their work. These artists present a panoramic view of contemporary painting from china; their work clearly communicates, with great originality, the vibrant life force within them, their artistic and academic principles, and their experience of life itself.

The Yisulang Art Gallery has, over the years, established an “artistic network” in China’s art community consisting of artists, critics, academics, exhibitors and collectors. This has given the Gallery a depth of experience with artistic trends and developments in China, which has allowed it to obtain a thorough understanding of the art world there.
